*****
After surviving the human error of the mind and the compression of communication, the resulting memory is a somewhat low-fidelity transmission in an altered form compared to the original event. In order to convey these internal pictures to others, one must use visual, auditory, or linguistic media. When one decides to make art out of moments the image suffers (or reaps) not only the compression of the memory, but also the transformation of the medium.
Episodic is a suggestion about: memory/perception/influence/equivalence/pop culture/communication. I've been away in Providence, Rhode Island and I'm pleased to bring home with me Michael Bizon, Maureen Keaveny, Peter Lutz, Alee Peoples, George Terry, and Brett Windham.
It's hard to make a temporary home. But when you throw out a phrase like "sensory neurons recapitulate," the ones whose eyes widen are your family.
-Anne Reinhardt
